10 - Sleepless Wind

This song was first performed at a multi-media event April of 2002 called Sleepless Wind. This was the final song of the two act event. It was originally performed with the same girl, Sara Cinquemani, who sings on Porcelain off of my second album, Wind Chains. When I was rumaging through old papers mid 2007 I came across the music sheets and lyrics. The song wasn't ready to be buried forever. In-fact just as it was apt for what I was going through when I wrote it, it was relevant again for what I was going through when it found me this time. Funny, the little things that find you again...
I was only... you were only... yours. mine. I was holding beyond my skin. We couldn't give what we couldn't win. Do you still feel I stole from you? Forgetting what we meant to do. Simple. It's here. In front of you. Wishing we could feel this sleepless wind. It wasn't what I meant to do. I guess I lost myself in you. Do you still blame me for what we couldn't win? We couldn't loose what we couldn't give. Simple. It's here. in front of you. Wishing we could feel this sleepless wind. We cradle our skin under these weights. We cradle our skin under these weights. We cradle our skin, We cradle our safties. But I'll put out my hand, for when you can let go. I'll put out my hand for when you can let go. Can you feel this sleepless? Can you feel this pull? Can you feel this sleepless wind? I put out my hand, for when you can let go. I'll put out my hand for when you can let go. I put out my hand before I go For when you can let go. I put out my hand before I go For when you can let go. I put out my hand before I go For when you can let go.
